Westwood Centre, Middlesbrough

Opened in Spring 2014, the Westwood Centre at West Lane Hospital in Middlesbrough offers a safe environment for young people from across the country to be assessed and treated for a range of complex mental health needs.

The new facilities at the centre are fantastic and will help us engage even more with the young people who come to us.
Jackie Ennis, Head of Children and Young People’s Services, Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

Offering 24 hour support to young people aged 12 to 18, The Westwood Centre provides a range of facilities to aid recovery including 12 en-suite bedrooms, education rooms, a music room, gym, sports facilities and family visiting areas.

The low secure centre forms part of a major refurbishment programme which will improve client Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust’s inpatient facilities for children and young people.

Having been impressed with the quality achieved on the development, The Trust subsequently awarded us the contract for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the works.
