IHP and NHS colleagues developing the new Urgent and Emergency Care Department in Scarborough have lots to celebrate. As the project nears completion, they picked up a prestigious award for Integration and Collaborative Working, at this year’s Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards.
The team were crowned the winners due to their collaborative approach to designing and delivering the new healthcare facilities, which has involved full engagement of all project partners – including client representatives, designers, contractors, and supply chain specialists.
The annual awards are held to showcase the organisations, projects and talent across each UK region that are delivering excellence, driving change and inspiring others to adopt new and better ways of working.
Proud colleagues from joint venture partners VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine were in attendance alongside NHS colleagues, at the glittering prize-giving ceremony at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, to collect their award.
VINCI Building’s Ian Burke, who is Project Director on the contract said “I’m delighted. This award is a great achievement and is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by all of the design and construction team and our supply chain, and the drive and commitment of York and Scarborough Hospitals Trust, resulting in a true ‘One Team’ approach. It’s been a pleasure and an honour to be involved in this project.
Garry Bowker, VINCI Building Regional Managing Director added: “This is superb news, congratulations to the whole team!”
As regional award winners, the team will now go on to represent Yorkshire and Humber at the national Constructing Excellence Awards Final, in London, later in the year.
