Breast Care Unit BSUH

Designed to consolidate Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust’s breast care service in one community-based location, this new unit is the first of its kind in the UK.

Fitted with the latest mammography equipment, it is the first centre in the country to offer this level of technology together with all outpatient services in one building and ensures patients receive a fully integrated diagnostics and care service.

The new building is a great boost for staff and patients – the centre is a lovely place to work and provides a calm backdrop for visitors who may be feeling anxious.

Completed in just eight months, the project involved the total strip out and reconfiguration of two floors of a former office building to create the new high quality accommodation required to deliver this world class service.

Working to a challenging programme, a successful partnering relationship was essential, with the design and Guaranteed Maximum Price for the project delivered in 11 weeks.

A well thought-out healthcare solution, the result is a light and welcoming facility which provides a relaxed environment for both patients and staff who are full praise for the new unit.
